
A recent article in The Guardian highlights the problems of providing well-designed, affordable housing in the current economic downturm, but also showed that this can be achieved and used Hyelm's Old Street development as an example. The project provides accommodation and facilities for young people to avoid them leaving London due to the lack of affordable housing. Red Loft managed all stages of this project on behalf of our client, Hyelm, including finding the site and managing the design and construction stages. This scheme fits the Homes & Community Agency's aim of championing good design as the 'bread and butter' of future developments.
