Red Loft is creating and managing a four year national development programme for Sanctuary Carr Gomm Housing Association. Bransdale Road is one scheme we recently completed, in 2008.
This new build scheme is on a corner site and replaces an unattractive, two storey, 8 bedroom shared house. The accommodation was no longer suitable for its original purpose as all residents were having to share the bathroom and kitchen, and only had one small bedroom as their private area.
The recently completed building is a 3 storey, timber framed scheme which comprises 13 one bedroom flats, a communal lounge and staff office. Working closely in partnership with Middlesbough Borough Council this supported project meets design standards above and beyond its funding requirements. It has been designed to suit a range of different client groups, including people with learning difficulties and mental heath issues as well as general needs residents and the elderly. Additionally the very latest assistive technology systems were installed to enhance security and independence and the scheme achieved an Eco Homes rating of 'very good'.
This award winning scheme made a contribution to the regeneration programme of the area and has been recognised by the clients, Sanctuary Carr Gomm, as a model for their future development schemes.
