Red Loft are creating and managing a four year national development programme for Carr Gomm Housing Association. Bransdale Raod is one of the schemes we recently completed in 2008.
This new build is on a corner site and replaces an unattractive two storey, 8 bedroom shared house for people with supported housing needs. The accommodation was no longer suitable for its original purpose with all residents having to share the bathroom and kitchen, and only having one small bedroom as their private area.
The recently completed building is a 3 storey, timber framed scheme which comprises of 13 x one bedroom flats, communal lounge and staff office. Working closely in partnership with Middlesbough Borough Council and the Housing Corporation, this supported project meets design standards above and beyond its funding requirements. It has been designed to suit a range of different client groups which include people with learning difficulties, mental heath disabilities as well as general needs residents and the elderly, it also meets Housing Corporation's Wheelchair Standards. Additionally the very latest assistive technology systems were installed to enchange security and independence and achieved an Eco Homes rating of 'very good'.
This award winning scheme made a contribution to the regeneration programme of the area and has been accepted by the clients, Carr Gomm, as a model for their future development schemes.
