Since
2012 we have achieved and negotiated planning on all 11 sites to create 50 new
homes for shared ownership and affordable rent.
The
projects comprise of two bungalows, a development of 18 stylish flats and a
number of traditional houses designed to reference the Victorian and Georgian
housing surrounding them, with the benefit of being energy efficient as they
meet level 4 of the Code for Sustainable Homes. There are also a few
houses with innovatively designed exteriors. All of the schemes
benefit from good transport links with 10 of the schemes within 15 minutes of
Walthamstow tube station and the eleventh in close proximity to a train
station. Despite determining 3 of the contracts with the original contractor,
Red Loft recently achieved practical completion on the last of the
schemes.
The
£12 million project has helped the regeneration of Waltham Forest, bringing
back into use areas of previously underutilised land by providing good quality
spacious and affordable homes, for the benefit of people with a connection to
the borough.
