Meet the Team: John Booker

Meet our Head of Land & Consultancy John Booker!

John has been with Red Loft for over 10 years, offering a diverse background in town planning and surveying, whilst also maintaining a genuine passion and commitment for facilitating development and the delivery of affordable housing.

John has worked with a number of clients during his time at Red Loft- including some key projects with:

· LB Ealing – leading their Affordable Homes Investment Plan, reviewing 30 development sites, with potential for 4000 homes, prioritising sites, maximising their deliverability, and identifying the best delivery model route

· LB Tower Hamlets, running the financial appraisals for Harriot, Apsley, and Pattison Houses (Clichy Estate), modelling the delivery routes and shaping the delivery form to realise this 400-unit estate regeneration scheme

· Peabody, project managing the design development and successful planning application for 1,500 homes development at Southmere, Thamesmead

· Assessing and promoting scheme viability and deliverability for numerous private clients, housing associations and councils, including at Luton Town Football Club’s site (Power Court), Southwark’s development programme of 50 sites, Brent (First Wave Housing and Investment for Brent), Eastbourne Council, Aitch Gorups' development programmes

John comments: “Working in the development sector is a privilege; the results of your work are tangible, and you can proudly point out your schemes to family and friends. Making schemes work is challenging, but knowing that your work enables people to have great and affordable homes is hugely rewarding.”

In his spare time, John enjoys renovating his homes, going for runs and listening to live music.
